Questions

What are the advantages of using a pet sitter?

There are several advantages to using a pet sitter as opposed to boarding your pet.  Your pet will stay in his own environment and follow his usual routine.  Your pet receives undivided personal attention and protection from exposure to other animals and possible disease.  In addition to caring for your pet, a pet sitter can deter criminals by keeping an eye on your home and giving your home a "lived in" look.

Are you bonded and insured?

Yes.  We are bonded and insured for your peace of mind.

Do you take care of exotics?

We take care of any type of pet including reptiles, exotics, and parrots.  The only pets we turn down are those that pose a danger to the pet sitter because of aggression or other issues.

What type of pets do you have experience caring for?

I have shared my life with many pets from guinea pigs to ferrets to horses.  My favorites are dogs and parrots.  I currently have 5 dogs, 2 parrots, fish, a llama, 2 pigs and a herd of miniature dairy goats

Do you take credit cards?

No.  We accept Paypal, checks and cash.

What is a Pet Sitters International Accredited Pet Sitter?

Pet Sitters International is a professional organization for pet sitters.  They have strict standards of membership.  This organization also offers a course for pet sitters covering a variety of topics including animal behavior and health.  Pet sitters who complete this intensive course are privileged to call themselves PSI Accredited Pet Sitters.

Do you offer dog training/animal behavior consulting services at this time?

I do not at this time.  I am taking a course through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute.  After completion I hope to become certified by APDT and IAABC after that time.  Then these services will be offered.

Do you keep client keys in a safe place?

Yes.  Client keys are kept in a lock box at all times unless in use.

Do you have a cancellation fee?

We require 24 hours notice for a cancellation.  If not received in this time, the fee equal to one pet sitting visit will be charged.  We are busiest during holidays so a 50% cancellation fee will be charged during those times.

How much notice do you require for new clients?

We
always do face to face interviews with new clients.  We require 48 hours notice for new clients to allow time for scheduling this interview.
